ःथान sthān, s.m. The act of standing or staying, stay, continuance; place, spot, locality, situation, site, space, station, stall, abode, house, dwelling, residence, home; occasion; object; place, section, or chapter (in a book); station, degree, rank, dignity; appointment, office:—sthān-vāćak, (in Gram.) Having reference to place; an adverb of place.
