zawāl (inf. n. of زول 'to pass away,' etc.), s.m. Declining (as the sun from the meridian); declination; setting (of the sun, etc.); decline, wane, decay; fall; cessation; defect, deficiency, failure; harm, loss, injury (syn. nuqṣān); humiliation; misery, wretchedness:—zawālpaẕīr, adj. Liable to decay, perishable, evanescent, transitory, fading:—zawāl-kāwaqt, s.m. The time of the sun's decline, the afternoon:—zawāl-ě-māh, s.m. Wane of the moon.
