रास rās, s.m. Sound, noise, confused noise, uproar, din; a Hindūfestival including songs and dances celebrated in the month Kārttik, the circular dance practised by cowherds in commemoration of the dance in which Krishṇand the Gopīs engaged; festive amusement, sportive game; amorous pastime;—speech;—a chain:—rās-dhārī, s.m.
