ẕī, s.m. (gen. of ẕū; like which it is used), Possessor, etc. (see ẕū):—ẕī-iḵẖtiyār, adj. & s.m. Possessed of power or authority, empowered, with powers (of a magis trate);—one empowered or in authority, one having competent jurisdiction:—ẕī-istě`dād, adj. & s.m. Possessed of ability or capacity, capable, well-qualified;—a man of capacity or ability:—ẕī-iqtidār, adj. & s.m.=ẕī-iḵẖtiyār, q.v.:—ẕi`l-ḥij, or ẕi`l-ḥijja, s.m. The last month of the Mohammadan year (on the tenth day of which is the festival of baqar-`īd):—ẕi`l-qa`da, s.m.=ẕī-qa`d, q.v.:—ẕi`l-maqām, adj. Rational; animate;—a rational being; an animal; (as a pl.) animate creatures, the animal kingdom:—ẕī-shān, adj. Possessed of, or conspicuous for, dignity:—ẕī-shu`ūr, adj. Intelligent, sagacious:—zī-`izzat, adj. Honourable, respectable:—ẕī-qa`d, s.m. The eleventh month of the Mohammadan lunar year:—ẕī-hosh, adj. Sensible, wise:—g̠air-ẕī-rūh, adj. & s.m. Irrational; inanimate;—an inanimate object; inanimate things.
