धृ त dhr̤ita, vulg. dhr̤it (fr. धृ ), part. Held, borne, carried; maintained, supported, sustained; contained; possessed, kept, retained, detained; laid hold of, seized, grasped:—dhr̤itātmā(˚ta+āt˚), adj. Firm-minded, selfpossessed, steady, calm, collected:—dhr̤itarāshṭra, s.m. 'Whose empire is firm, or who holds the kingdom'; name of a king, father of Duryodan, and uncle of the five Pāṇḍu princes.
