daftarī[daftar, q.v.+Zend aêna = S. इन् ], s.m. An office-keeper; a man who has charge of the stationery, etc. of an office, and whose business it is to arrange and bind the papers and books, rule sheets of paper, make and mend pens, prepare envelopes, etc.
