दाम dām[Prk. दम्मु ; S. िम्मं ], s.m. Money; price, value, cost (syn. mol; qīmat);—a copper coin, or a measure of money-value, equal to one twenty-fifth of apaisā(at the present time: in the time of Akbar the dāmis said to have been of the value of one fortieth of a rupee):—dāmans, s.m.
