ḥall, vulg. ḥal (inf. n. of حلّ 'to untie,' etc.), s.m. Untying, loosing; dissolving, melting; solving, solution; analysis; grinding, trituration:—ḥal-kārī, s.f. Plating, gilding:—ḥal karnā, v.t. To untie, to loosen, to open; to dissolve, liquefy; to discuss, dilute; to solve (a problem, or riddle); to analyze; to triturate:—ḥal-honā, v.n. To be loosened, be opened, to be overcome (as difficulties); to be solved; to be resolved, be dissolved, etc.:—lā-ḥal, adj. Insoluble; inexplicable.
