जीतना jītnā[Prk. िजƣ(इ) or िजƣे(इ), fr. S. जीत, p.p.p. of rt. ज्या], v.t. To win; to conquer, vanquish, overpower, overcome, defeat, beat; to subdue; to suppress;—v.n. To be victorious (over, -se); to succeed:—jīt-jānā, v.t.=jītnā(e.g. muqaddama jīt-gayā):—jīt-lenā, intens. of and=jītnā.
