जवारा jawārā[S. यव+अङ्कुर+कः; or ārā= Prk. आलओ=S. आल+कः; but cf. juwārāabove], s.m. A blade or shoot of barley;—juwāre, pl. The barley-shoots which are forced in earthen pots for presentation at the Dasahra festival; the small shoots of rice which germinate when steeped in water.
