थू thū[Prk. थू; S. थु], s.f. The sound made in spitting, or an imitation of that sound;—intj. (expressive of disgust, scorn, etc.) Fie!, out!, tush!, tut!:—thū-thūkarnā, v.n. To be constantly or repeatedly spitting; to spit (on or at, -par) in scorn, etc.; to flout or jeer with the exclamation thū; to deride, scorn, treat with disdain:—thū-thūhonā, v.n. To be flouted or jeered with the exclamation thū; to be derided, scorned, etc.; to be disgraced.
