थापना thāpnā[thāp˚= Prk. थप्प(इ); prob. for S. ःतृ ƻ(ते), pass. of rt. ःतृ ɯ used actively], v.t. To tap, pat, beat; to pat (cowdung) into cakes (for fuel), to patch or plaster (a wall with cakes of cow-dung; see pāṭhnā; thopnā); to slap, thump, box, cuff.
