ta`ziya (i.q. ta`ziyat, q.v.), s.m. A representation of the shrines of Hasan and Husain, sons of 'Alī(which is carried in procession at the Moḥarram by theShī`aschiefly):—ta`ziya ṭhandākarnā, To bury a ta`ziya, to throw a ta`ziyainto the river (at the anniversary of the Moḥarram):—ta`ẕiya-ḵẖāna, s.m. The place of the ta`ziya:—ta`ziyadār, ta`ziya-gīr, s.m. One who observes the mourning in Moḥarram:—ta`ziya-dārī, s.f. Making a ta`ziya; the observance of Moḥarram:—ta`ziya lenā, v.n. To observe the mourning during Moḥarram, to go into mourning.
