bahr, bahri[Zend bagha, bāghacf. bag], prep. On account of, for the sake of, for. S بھر भर bhar (rt. भृ ), adj., adv. & prefix, Full, complete; all, whole; much, excessive; as much as, enough or sufficient for; as far as, up to; exact (as to limit); at most, merely;—s.m. Load, burden; plenty, size, bulk:—bhar pānā, v.n. To be paid in full, to receive the amount due; to be paid off, get one's deserts:—bhar-pā`ī, s.f. Receipt in full (the name being derived from the use of these words in the body of the receipt):—bhar-pūr, bhar-pūraṇ, adj. Quite full, brimful, chokeful, crammed, replete, overflowing; sufficient, quite enough; high (as a tide); full (as the moon):—bhar-pūrī, s.f. The state of being full or overflowing, fullness; abundance:—bhar-peṭ, s.m. Bellyful:—bhar-peṭī, adj. Potbellied:—bhar-ćūk, adv. In full of all demands:—bhar-dauṛ, adv. At full gallop;—to the extent of one's power, etc.=bhar-śak:—bhar-sak, bhar-śak, adv. To the extent of one's ability, as far as possible, as far as may be; with all one's might:—bhar-kos, s.m. A full kos; fully a kos:—bhar-maqdūr, adv.=bhar-śak, q.v.:—(bhar most commonly comes after substantives; e.g.) bāṅs-bhar, adv. The height or length of a bamboo:—bal-bhar = bhar-śak, q.v.:—(utnī) ber-bhar, adv. Sucha long time, all that while:—peṭ-bhar = bhar-peṭ:—ćhiṇ-bhar, adv. In a moment:—din-bhar, adv.
