بڑوا

बड़वा baṛwā[S. वडवा], s.f. Mare; the nymph Aśvinī(who, in the form of a mare as the wife of Vivaswat or the Sun, became the mother of the two Aśvins); the personification of the constellation represented by a horse's head:—baṛwāgni (vaḍavā+agni), s.m. Submarine fire, or the fire of the lower regions, fabled to be at the South-pole and not extinguishable by the sea-water:—baṛwānal (vaḍawā+anala), s.m.=baṛwāgni;—(in Myth.), a being consisting of flame, but with the head of a mare, who sprang from the thighs of Urwā, and was received by the Ocean:—baṛwā-mukh, s.m. 'Mare's mouth'; entrance to the lower or infernal regions at the South-pole; submarine fire (=baṛwāgni).
