باز

bāz, act. part. [of bāḵẖtan; rt. Zend baz; S. भज् ; cf. baḵẖt], Playing, player;—(in comp.) a suffix denoting an 'agent,' 'doer,' 'one who has to do with,' 'fancier,' etc.; e.g. ṭhaṭṭhe-bāz, s.m. Joker, jester;—kabūtar-bāz, s.m. 'Pigeonfancier'; shatranj-bāz, 'chess-player.'
