अनन्त an-ant, adj. Endless, boundless, infinite, eternal;—s.m. An epithet of the serpent that supports the earth;—an epithet of the god Vishnu;—a cord with fourteen knots which the Hindūs tie on the right arm on the festival of anant-ćaudas:—anant-ćaudas (S. ananta+ćaturdaśī), s.f. The fourteenth lunar day (or full moon) of Bhādoṅ, when a festival is held in honour of Anant or Vishnu:—anant-rāśi, s.f. (in Arith.) Infinite quantity:—anant-rūp, adj. Multiform:—anant-kāl, s.m. Eternity;—adv. Eternally. for ever and ever:—anant-vāt, s.m. Rigidity or paralysis of the muscles of the face and neck.
