आहट āhaṭ(from ānā), s.f. Sound of feet approaching, sound of soft footsteps; sound, noise, clack, tick:—āhaṭlenāor lete rahnā, To be on the qui vivefor the sound of footsteps, etc.; to be on the watch, to be on the alert.
