गढ़ gaṛh[S. गडः], s.m. A fort; citadel; castle;—a wheeling hovel, or engine of war, under cover of which soldiers approach a fort:—gaṛh jītnā, To take a fort; (fig.) to surmount a difficulty:—gaṛh-khā`ī, s.f. Moat or trench of a fort; an entrenchment.
