छेऽ ćhetr [S. क्षेऽं], s.m. Landed property, land, soil, a field (=khet), plantation; a battle-field; a sphere ofaction;—place, region, country; a sacred spot or district, a place of pilgrimage (as Benares, etc.), etc. (see kshetr);—a geometrical figure, a plane surface:—ćhetr-pāl, s.m. A man employed to guard fields from depredation;—proprietor of the soil, landlord, etc. (=bhūmiyā, q.v.):—ćhetrphal, s.m. Superficial contents or area (of a field or a plane surface, orof a geometrical figure):—ćhetr-sīmā, s.f. The boundaries of a field, or of a sacred place.
