walad, or wald (v.n. fr. وَلَدَ 'to beget,' etc.), s.m. A son, offspring:—waladu`l-ḥarām, or waladu`l-ḥaiẓ, s.m. Whoreson, bastard:—waladu`l-ḥalāl, adj. & s.m. Legitimate;—legitimate child:—waladu`z-zinā, s.m. A bastard;—an earth-worm:—lā-walad, adj. Having no children, without issue; heirless.
