हांिडया hāṅḍiyā= H هانڑي हांड़ी hāṅṛī[Prk. भंिडआ; S. भाण्ड+ इका], s.f. An earthen pot (for cooking, etc., a small cauldron;-globe (of a lamp):—hāṅḍīubalnā, A pot to boil over;—(fig.) to swell out:—hāṅḍīpaknā, The pot to boil;—to talk, to gossip;—a plot or plan to be concocted or matured:—(kisī-ke nām-par) hāṅḍīphoṛnā, To break an earthen pot (over the name of anyone; this is done on the departure of an obnoxious individual):—hāṅḍī ćaṛhnā(-par), The pot to be put (on the fire):—hāṅḍīgarm honā, 'The pot to become warm or to be busy' (esp. by fraudulent means); to pilfer, to pocket, etc.—hāṅḍī-wāl, s.m. A partner, a confederate:—bā`olīhāṅḍī, or dīwānīhāṅḍī, s.f. Hodge-podge.
