tarīqa, s.m. = P طریقت tarīqat, s.f. (for A. طریقة , fr. tarīq, q.v.), A road, path, way, course, rule, mode of acting, etc., manner of conduct, etc., custom, fashion, established rule or usage; system;—religious ordinance, religion; sect; rite, observance;—the better sort (of people), the most excellent or the best (of a people, etc.):—ahl-ě-tarīqat or ahl-ě-tarīqa, s.m. pl.
