tabī`at (for A. طبیعة , v.n. fr. طبع 'to stamp, impress,' etc.), s.f. Nature, disposition, constitution, temperament (syn. mizāj); a humour (one of the four); complexion; genius; mind; temper; natural constituent, intrinsic property, essence:—tabī`at ānā(-par), To feel a natural liking (for), to be attached (to), be fond (of), etc.:—tabī`at biganā, v.n. To get out of temper; to become indisposed, to feel ill or sick; to be excited (by):—tabī`at bhar-jānā, v.n. The mind to be satisfied; to be cloyed (with, -se):—tabī`at-par zor ālnā(apnī), To exert oneself, to try one's best; to exercise (one's) skill:—tabī`at-dār, adj. Naturally sharp or acute, clever; inventive:—tabī`at-shinās, s.m. 'One who knows the constitution, etc.,' a physician:—tabī`at `alīl honā, v.n. To be indisposed, be ill:—tabī`at laānā(-se), To grapple mentally (with), to tackle (a difficulty, etc.):—tabī`at lagnā(-par), To be welldisposed (to), to take interest or pleasure (in); to take a fancy (to), to be attached (to), etc.:—tabī`at nā-sāz honā, v.n.=tabī`at `alīl honā, q.v.
