शादर्लू śārdūl, s.m. A tiger; panther; leopard; (as last member of compounds) an eminent man, pre-eminent, excellent, best (e.g. nara-śārdūl, 'a tiger of a man,' 'an eminent man');—a Rākshas:—śārdūl-lalit, s.m. 'Tiger's sport'; a variety of the Dhr̤itimetre (consisting of four pādasof eighteen syllables each):—śārdūl-vikrīḍita, s.m. 'Tiger's play'; a species of the Atidhr̤itimetre (having four pādasof nineteen syllables each).
