baḵẖshī(rel. n. fr. baḵẖsh, q.v.), s.m. Paymaster (in Moham. armies); general, commander-in-chief (the office of paymaster being combined with that of general); an officer who kept an account of all disbursements connected with military tenures (as those of manṣabdārsand jāg̠īr-dārs);—collector of house-rents:—baḵẖshī-al-mamālik, s.m.
