िबजय bijay, bija`ě, vulg. िबजे bijai[S. िवजय, rt िज], s.m. Victory, conquest, triumph (syn. jīt; fataḥ):—bija`ě-dasmī, s.f. 'The victorious tenth'; the tenth of Ásin śukl paksh, the anniversary of Rām'svictory over Rāvan; (generally) any tenth day of a lunar fortnight that falls on a Sunday:—bijay karnā, v.n. To effect or engage in conquest;—v.t. To conquer, subdue, capture, take (a fort, etc.).
