ḥirṣ(inf. n. of حرص 'to desire eagerly'), s.f. Desiring eagerly; greediness, avidity, avarice, covetousness:—ḥirṣ ćhūṭnā, v.n. To be avaricious or covetous:—ḥirṣdilānā, ḥirṣdenā(-ko), To make (one) desire eagerly, to rouse cupidity in; to tempt, entice, allure:—ḥirṣkarnā(-kī), To long (for), to covet:—ḥirṣ-ā-ḥirṣ, ḥirṣ-ā-ḥirṣī, adv.
