गौरी gaurī, s.f. 'The brilliant goddess,' name of the goddess Pārvatī(the wife of Śiva);—a young girl (prior to menstruation, or of about ten years of age), a maiden;—the vigils and festivities of Bhādra-pad-śukl-pakshin honour of Pārvatī;—name of a rāginīor musical mode:—gaurī-pati, or gaurīś(˚rī+īśa), s.m.
