ناد

नाद nāda, vulg. nād, s.m. Sounding; a sound (in general); singing; a song; a loud sound; roaring, a roar; noise, cry;—(in the yog) the nasal sound represented by a semicircle, and used as an abbreviation, or a hieroglyphic, in mystical words:—nād-karnā, To sing;—to roar (as a tiger); to bellow:—nād-vidyā, s.f.
