mufīd (act. part. of افاد 'to profit, advantage, benefit,' etc., iv of فاد (for فید ) 'profit, etc. to accrue (to)'), adj. Profitable, advantageous, beneficial; performing a useful office, useful, of use; salutary; (in Gram.) expressive of a meaning, importing or conveying a meaning or signification:—mufīd honā, v.n.
