कौन kaun, (rustic) कोन kon[Ap. Prk. कवणु, or कवडु; Prk. केƧहो; S. कीदृशः], interrog. pron. Who? which? what? whether? (the formative of the sing. iskis; that of the plur. kinor kinh; but in Hindīpoetry, in Braj, and in rustic speech kaunis seldom inflected; thus we find kaun-kauinstead of kis-kau (=kiskā), etc.):—kaun-sā, Which? what? which (or what) particular one? what sort or manner of?—kaun-hī(Braj. kawan-hī, or kawan-hū), emphat forms of kaun (see hī).
