qālab, or qālib (said to be act. part. of قلب 'to turn, convert,' etc.; but prob. P. kālabarabicized), s.m. A mould, model, form, prototype; (shoemaker's) last; material (of a thing); frame, figure, bust; the body, the lifeless form;—the heart-shaped block on which a tailor cuts out caps; (in Arch.) the centering:—qālib badalnā, To change (one's) body, to be transformed, to undergo transmigration.
