sarā[or sarā`e; old P. śarāi; Zend thrāiti, rt. thrā= S. ऽा], s.f. House, mansion, palace; temporary home for travellers, caravansary, inn; (met.) the world:—sarā-parda, s.m. A curtain (esp. at the door of a royal pavilion or palace); a wall of canvas surrounding a cluster of tents; a royal tent or pavilion;—sarā-dār, s.m. Keeper of a caravansary, innkeeper; landlord; master of the horse.
