दमयन्ती damayantī(rt. dam), s.f. (lit. 'Subduing men'), Name of the beautiful daughter of Bhīma, king of Vidarbha, and wife of Nala (whose story forms the subject of a celebrated episode of the epic poem Mahābhārata).
