थम्भ thambh [Prk. थम्भो and थम्भओ=S. ःतम्भः and ःतम्भकः], s.m. Support, prop, pillar, column, post;—thamb, thambh, the stem of a tree (esp. of a plantain); a pillar-shaped sweetmeat (offered at shrines chiefly by women); obstruction, obstacle, check, curb, anything that restrains.
