आपस āpas[S. आत्मन् +अस् , 'of self'], s.f. Kindred, brotherhood, fraternity; fellowship:—recip. pron. selves, each other, one another.—āpas-dārī(seedārī), s.f. Kindred, etc.=āpas:—āpas-dārī-kā, and āpas-kā, adj. (f. -ī), Private, family (e.g. āpas-kāmu`āmlā, 'a private, or family, affair,' or 'an affair concerning our- or themselves').—āpas-meṅ, adv. Among themselves, with each other or one another, together, mutually, in common, in concert:—āpas-meṅrahnā, To live together; to live together as man and wife, to live in adultery; to live apart from men and in unnatural intercourse with one another (as certain women in India do).
