ḥājī(for ḥājjī, a n. of un. fr. ḥājj, q.v.;—not found in classical Arabic, but used by the Persians and Turks), s.m. A pilgrim (to Mecca); one who has performed the pilgrimage (of Mecca):—ḥājī-aḥmaq, ḥājī-bewuqūf, s.m. (local), Two mock pilgrims who play a conspicuous part in the Mǒḥarramfestival:—ḥājiyu`l-ḥaramain, s.m. A pilgrim to the two sacred places (Mecca and Medina); one who has performed the pilgrimage of the two sacred places.
