جزیہ

jizya, vulg. jazyā(for A. جزیة jizyat, fem.; rt. جزي 'to give as a satisfaction,' etc.), s.m. A capitation-tax levied on the non-Muslim subjects of a Mohammadangovernment; (local) a house-tax on the inhabitants of towns not engaged in tillage.
