ट ṭa: The fifth letter of the Hindūstānīalphabet, and the eleventh consonant of the Nāgarī,—the first letter of the third or cerebral class. Its sound resembles that of tin true; but it is properly pronounced by pressing the tip of the tongue against the palate instead of the roots of the teeth:—ṭa-kār, s.m.
