bāṅg[rt. Zend vać; S. वाच् , cf. āwāz], s.f. Voice, sound, noise, cry, shout; the call to prayer by the mu`aẕẕinfrom the minarets or towers of the mosques (syn. aẕān); crowing (of a cock):—bāṅg denā, v.n. To call Musalmānsto prayer; to crow (a cock):—bāṅg-ě-ṣubḥ, s.f. The morning call to prayer:—bāṅg mārnā, v.n. To cry out; to call:—bāṅg-ě-namāz, s.f. The call to prayer (=bāṅg).
