بایان

बायां bāyāṅ[S. वामकः], adj. (f. bā`īṅ) & s.m. Left;—the left hand (=bāṅwān, bāṅyāṅ); (in music) the bass; the bass sound (particularly of the t̤abla,ḍholak, and pakhāwaj, which are played with the left hand):—bāyāṅbolnā, v.n. To have an omen from the left-hand side (which is regarded as good):—bāyāṅpāṅw (or pair) pūjnā(-kā), lit. 'To worship the left leg (of)'; to acknowledge the superiority or cleverness or cunning (of):—bā`eṅ, bāṅ`eṅ, bāṅweṅ, adv. To the left; on the left-hand side.
