व्यंजन vyaṅjan (rt. vi+aṅj), s.m. The act of making clear, marking, distinguishing, indicating;—(in Gram.) a consonant (as marking or distinguishing sound);—a mark, sign, token, indication; insignia, paraphernalia;—a mark or sign of puberty; the beard;—mark of sex or gender, a privy part (male or female);—anything used in dressing or preparing food, seasoning, relish, sauce, condiment (i.q. binjan, q.v.):—figurative expression or insinuation; irony, sarcasm:—vyaṅjanānt (˚na+an˚), adj. Ending with a consonant:—vyaṅjan-ćakr, s.m. (in Gram.) A table or paradigm of the consonants:—vyaṅjansandhi, s.f. (in Gram.) The junction of a vowel or consonant with a consonant (according to special rules) for the formation of a compound letter.
