घट ghaṭa, vulg. ghaṭ, s.m. A large (earthen) water-jar, a water-pot (=ghaṛā, q.v.);—the body;—mind, heart, soul; thought (in these senses also fem.in Hindī):—ghatāṭop (˚ṭa+āṭ˚), s.m. A covering (for a palanquin, or carriage, or any article of furniture):—ghaṭa-ja, vulg. ghaṭaj, s.m. lit.'Born in a water-pot,' an epithet of the sage Agastya:—ghaṭ-dāsī, s.f.
