घान ghān. = H گھانا घाना ghānā(dialec.) [prob. S. घनः, and घन+ कः], s.m. As much as is thrown in at one time into a mill, or mortar, etc.; a charge or load (of oil-seed, etc.); quantity (to be ground, or bruised, or levigated, or parched, etc.); a batch; a baking:—ghān paṛnā(-meṅ), The materials to be put (into the mill, etc.);—a job to be put (in hand):—ghān ḍālnāor ḍāl-denā(-meṅ), To throw the materials (into a mill or mortar, etc.);—to put the materials (of one's business or affairs in hand);—e.g. tumhārī ćīz-kābhīghān ḍāl-diyāhai).
