gurz[Pehl. vazr; Zend vazra, fr. vaz, 'To strengthen,' etc.; S. वळ, rt. वज् ], s.m. A mace, a club; an iron club (pointed at one end, and having a knob at the other covered with spikes);—a battle-axe:—gurz-bardār, s.m. Mace-bearer:—gurz-mār, s.m. A (Mohammadan) faqīrwho carries a club armed with spikes with which he wounds himself to extort alms.
