ढेला ḍhelā(see ḍher; and ḍhepā; and cf. also S. लेƴु), s.m. A lump (of clay, chalk, etc.), mass, a clod (of earth), a pellet (of dried clay, to shoot with); the eye-ball:—ḍhelā-ćauth, s.f. The fourth day of the light half of the month Bhādon, and the festival held on that day (in which Hindūs pelt one another with lumps of earth or with stones, and even throw them into one another's houses; and if they are abused, they consider the abuse an honour).
