ढाना ḍhānā[ḍhā˚, prob. fr. S. धस् ; or fr. िाɯ; cf. ḍhāhnā, and ḍhālnā], v.t. To break, batter, shatter, throw down, pull down, knock down, raze (a building, etc.), destroy, demolish; to cause to befall, to bring (trouble, etc. upon):—ḍhā-denā, v.t. intens. of and=ḍhānā:—ćunī-ćunā`ī'imārat ḍhānā(-kī), 'To throw or pull down the ready-made structure (of),' to overthrow the project (of), spoil or mar (one's) plans.
