डाक ḍāk[prob. S. दाहकः; rt. दɯ; cf. ḍahnā], s.m. A piece of gold or silver leaf, etc. placed under a gem (in a ring) to heighten its brilliance, a foil; a coloured substance placed under glass to form a mock gem (=ḍāṅk).
