चक्की ćakkī[Prk. चिक्कआ; S.चब+इका; see ćakkā], s.f. A mill-stone; a pair of millstones, a mill, hand-mill, quern; a grinder, a grinding-stone;—a whirligig;—the timber of a gun-lock; the knee-pan;—a thunderbolt:—ćakkīpīsnā, To grind in a mill, to work a mill or quern:—ćakkīphernā, ćakkījhonā, To turn or work a hand-mill, to grind:—ćakkījhonā, To spin a long yarn:—ćakkī ćalānā= ćakkīphernā, q.v.:—ćakkī-rahā, s.m. One whose business it is to notch mill-stones:—ćakkī-rahnā, To notch a mill-stone:—ćakkī-kāpāṭ, s.m. The upper, or the nether, mill-stone:—ćakkī-kāpīsnā, s.m. Turning or grinding in a hand-mill; (fig.) a grinding task, a tedious or wearisome occupation:—ćakkī-nāma, s.m. A kind of song sung by women at weddings while grinding a perfumed powder (abṭan):—ćakkī-nāwarīor nā`urī, s.f. Presentation of perfumed powder to the bride and bridegroom and the women by whom it has been prepared.
